From the shuttle PC to the data centre

For Thommen Catering We have completed the migration of your VM server.

The previous operation on a shuttle PC in the office had reached its technical limits. Growing requirements, increasing data volumes and the need for stable availability made the move to a modern, scalable environment necessary. Our goal was to carry out the move in such a way that ongoing operations would not be affected.

The existing terminal server was already set up virtually and served as a central working environment for employees at various locations. Our task was to transfer this existing virtual machine securely and completely to the new infrastructure.

Through detailed preparation, precise analysis of all configurations and a structured approach, we were able to ensure that applications, user profiles, permissions and dependencies were accurately recorded and correctly migrated.

The actual transfer went smoothly: the VM was transferred to the new environment and was immediately available and fully functional again.

For the Thommen Catering this meant a seamless transition. Employees were able to continue working without any adjustments or downtime. This is precisely our goal: to design complex technical work in such a way that the customer does not notice any disruption to their day-to-day business.

With the new infrastructure, the company now has significantly more resources and a system that can grow flexibly with future requirements. The virtual environment can be expanded as needed, adjusted in terms of performance or supplemented with new services without reaching hardware limits again. At the same time, all systems benefit from a stable, fail-safe operating environment with professional monitoring and clear maintenance processes.

The migration was therefore not just a technical relocation, but an important step towards greater future security.
